Sicuritalia, market leader in the private security sector in Italy, has completed its acquisition of the MAAT Group, which primarily specialises in security for retail, logistics, and events. With a consolidated turnover of 35 million euros, the MAAT Group has 900 employees and offices in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany.
Sicuritalia has experienced strong growth in the Italian market in recent years, both on its own and through acquisitions. The integration of MAAT Security is the first real step, after opening offices in Switzerland, towards the internationalization of Sicuritalia. With this acquisition, Sicuritalia positions itself as the second largest player in the European private security sector.
Jan Swerts, General Manager of the MAAT Group, says that the ambitions of the MAAT Group are supported by the acquisition: “Our partnership with Sicuritalia accelerates the professionalization of our organization and offers enormous opportunities for both our customers and all our employees within the MAAT Group. We are very happy to participate in this new project.”
“This acquisition has historic value for Sicuritalia,” said Lorenzo Manca, owner of the Sicuritalia Group. “It is the first important step beyond the Italian border in 70 years of the company’s history. The choice of MAAT Security is the result of a careful analysis of the company’s size, potential, and the sectors in which it operates. The acquisition of MAAT Security will allow us to serve our multinational customer base abroad and will form the basis for defining a model capable of replicating the growth path achieved in Italy in other countries.”
